The gala will feature storytellers from the forthcoming video compilation "The Truth in Our Stories," part of a collaborative grant project featuring a book by the same title, funded by the Institute for Diversity and Civic Life and made possible by the generous support of the Henry Luce Foundation.

What beautiful instruments and voices! It's easy to hear why Mariachi Imperial de America were recipients of 1st place at the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza and 1st place at the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo Mariachi Competition.
Mr. Longoria also directs the competitive performance ensemble Mariachi Pumas, of the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston.

What's the deal with "household" tickets? One of the things we kept from going virtual with the gala last year is the idea that a single $50 ticket for one person for a virtual gala was no longer equivalent to a single ticket to a dinner event. So, we think of your purchase of a $50 ticket as access for your household, which for many supporters has included two adults.
So if I'm the only one coming for my "household" ticket, what do I do about the other "guest" ticket the site asks me to provide info for before I can purchase my ticket? Well, you can put "N/A" in the required box for guest name and re-enter your own email in the required box for guest email. But, if you want to invite someone else to hear about our work, celebrate our victories, and envision the future together, go ahead and invite them or put "TBD" in the name box until you've made your decision. We'll follow up to check on updates or corrections for guests.
If I buy a sponsorship but don't want to receive my Party Pack, can I get a new tax receipt? Of course! We'll reissue a tax receipt that removes the deducted fair market value of the Party Pack.
